INDICATORS OF A CHURCH VOCATION When considering a candidate for priesthood or religious life, the church looks for the presence of certain indicators that a person has what it takes to be an effective minister and that he or she will find joy in serving as a priest, sister or brother. Some of those indicators include sensitivity to others, attraction to groups dealing with human needs, idealism, leadership, orientation towards people and search for meaning in life. If you recognize some of these indicators in your life, perhaps God is calling you to consider serving God’s people in the church as a priest, sister or brother. for more information or for a confidential meeting, call Father John Regan, at the Vocation Office at (815) 834-4004. Vocation information on the internet is at www.vocations.com . |
