Religious Education
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

between 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM Monday through Friday.
Pre-School
Pre-school classes are offered during the 10:00 AM Mass.
Elementary
Classes for 1st through 5th grades are taught on Saturday mornings at 9:00 and 11:00 AM.
The sacraments of First Communion and
Reconciliation are normally received during the 2nd grade. Two years of religious education classes are required to receive these sacraments.
Junior High
6th through 8th grade classes are taught on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings at 7:00 PM.
Confirmation preparation takes place during 8th grade, but two years of classes are
required to receive the sacrament.
High School
"IMPACT", a program for teens, is offered for high school students on Sunday
evenings from 6:00 - 9:00 PM. The format for "IMPACT" provides spiritual growth,
religious education, service and social time. Students are encouraged to attend on a
regular basis, but may begin at any time. In addition, diocesan-wide activities are
offered, and St. Matthew offers an overnight teen retreat called "SEARCH" as
well as a summer service trip.
Adult
Education
Adult programs are scheduled to meet the needs of our parishioners. In addition,
RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) meets on Thursday evenings at 7:00 PM
